Access
Boards
can be open to the public, open to all members
or only available to groups of members.
Who
Guest
visitors may post to open boards only.
Members can post to open and
closed boards, they can also post to boards that
are available to groups of members. Members can
create new boards and moderate them. Members can
create and manage their own groups of members
for use with their own private moderated boards.
Posts
Plain
text can be submitted, emails and links to other
websites and documents will be formatted as such.
HTML can be submitted with
links to other sites, graphics and documents,
providing complete control over content format.
Protection
A bad
language filter protects all posts.
Members login to a database
with username and password authentication.
Membership
Open:
can be open to any visitor and immediate on completion
of basic form.
Deferred: they can submit their
details and then await activation by the operators.
Closed: only available by exclusive
invite.
Operators
Can
control membership type (open deferred, closed).
Set board defaults (open to
public or members only), control moderator settings
(all members or only some). Access all boards
with full admin control. Provide the top structure
in the form of Forums for boards to be attached
to.
